Hot, Hot, Hot!!!

OK, it has been getting hot here and our dang house doesn't have A/C so today we broke down and bought a portable swamp cooler. It's loud and huge but it works and I'll learn to live with it. It's 10:44 p.m. and the temp inside is still on the warm side 79 degrees on the side of the house that the cooler doesn't reach. It's gonna be a long summer.

Today I took Sean to the park on the bike and bike trailer. It only took an hour to get him to sit down in it and buckle him in. Which is an improvement from how long it took him to get in it yesterday, (*ahem) 3 hours. But he is learning to like it so we'll keep practicing and use it more often. Anyway, we had fun and went early enough to beat the heat of the day.

We practiced his ASL while he was on the swing.(It's easier to practice while he is calm before bed, in the bath, and on the swing.) We got the attention of someone who works at a Daycare down the street. She was impressed and wanted to know how I was teaching Sean. I told her about Signing Time and my class I just took at the J.C. The daycare will be getting a new child who is Deaf soon and thought it would be nice to teach some of the other children. If I see her again I will see what they decided to do.

I don't have any new pictures over the weekend the camera stopped working again but I posted that last time.

I almost forgot the best story of the day.

Sean was in the mood to go roller skating. (Why? I have no idea! He has never seen anyone roller skate in real life before.) So as I was doing the dishes he pulled out 2 butter knives and put them on the floor. Then Sean stood on top of them and said he was roller skating. If that was all it took I'd say we should go roller skating more often but I see us both falling a lot if we really tried it. Maybe we'll wait a few more years for the real thing.
